In addition to various temporary installations at exhibitions, concerts, conferences or other cultural events, currently five permanent installations of a cosmophone exist in France and can be visited according to the conditions of their owners or administrators.
- Exhibition « Le grand récit de l’univers » (The Big Story of the Universe) at the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie in La Villette, Paris (since 2000, updated in 2008),
- Visitor Centre in the Carré Sciences building of the Laboratoire souterrain de Modane (LSM) in Savoy (since 2010),
- Planetarium of Vaulx-en-Velin in the metropolitan area of Lyon (since 2016),
- in the building of the 193-cm telescope of the Observatoire de Haute Provence, Institute PYTHEAS of CNRS (UAR 3470), in St. Michel l’Observatoire in the Alps of Provence (since 2016),
- in the premises of the PRISM laboratory in Marseilles (since 2019).
